sew brit chic.

The British Fashion Awards 2009

Designer of the Year - Luella Bartley
Who is Luella Bartley? Apparently, this onetime British Vogue editor is Brit's "IT" fashion designer. Her Spring 2009 Collection seems very pecuilar to me, but definitely has the British street chic look. Her looks are "colorful chanel meets pretty punk." Believe it or not, her collection is very tasteful and full of life and color; she has great aesthetic, a great eye for new fashion. And a major plus, she has some killer accessories from shoes to leather handbags to gloves to pins. You can actually find her collection in Target for she just launched it through Target's 'Go International' Collection. loves it!

Is it just me or is everyone catching on to Leanne's skirt details.. ;)

Model of the Year - Jourdan Dunn (surprisingly not Agyness Deyn)

Menswear Designer of the Year
Christopher Bailey for Burberry

Designer Brand of the Year
Jimmy Choo

Fashion Creator of the Year
Tim Walker

Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design
Stephen Jones

sew vintage vogue.

The 2009 French Vogue Calendar has just graced stands with its va-va-voom pin-up inspired spread!
This December/January Edition is definitely worth splurging on.
Keep your eyes opened because these editions are hard to find in the U.S.
Side note - vintage looks always stay golden.

sew getting these.

Antonio
heelless boots. Crazy unique? Definitely. Love em!

Stella McCartney -
clear chunkies. One Word: classic.

John Galliano
swirly metallic platforms. You always have to own a pair of cool crazy heels. Your heels should always walk in the door before you, and these babies make a statement.

Lanvin-
bejeweled heel. timelessly classic chic, yet spunky. You could rock these heels in any outfit; from a simple pencil skirt to skinnies and a white tank. Vintage beads/jewels are in.

Aminaka Wilmont -
I am completely baffled yet mesmerized by these futuristic heels. I am allll about wearable art, and these definitely make a statement. I admire the fact that now your feet can feel the ground wherever your heels take you. I bet Posh gets a pair next week, as well as me.

Dior - Fertility Goddess Heels
Priceless. The fertility goddess could not be used in a better way. This artifact signified women way back when, as do heels this century.

Alexander McQueen
amber heeled jewel boots. I'm sure Cleopatra is turning in her grave for these boots.

Balenciaga
Booties are HOTT this season, and of course, without a doubt, Balenciaga makes them HOTTER. I absolutely love the detail in the black leather boot, along with the jewels on the heel. The open toe adds the spice. I'd kill for a pair!

These heels should not be kept a secret. They should be worn and worked to death. They need to make history.

sew full of words.

I adore Christian Siriano. He truly inspires me without a doubt.
Fashion is art. Fashion is fun. And why not make funnie art out of it. I think I spend more time in my fashion classes laughing, gossiping, cursing, dancing, and singing than actually sewing. I mean, what's more important - learning how to whip stitch, make patterns, sew a hem properly, OR getting to know the people who will grace the fashion scene and hipsters with me one day. You can never have too much fun, or too many glasses of wine with your manequin and fashion junkies.

sew for him.

Diane von Furstenberg, Vera Wang, and Donna Karen are just a few fashionistas that have openly stated they fully support Obama and thus, are voting for him.
"Apart from being the right candidate, Mr. Obama looks better in a suit, which can only be a good thing."

I'm sure Mrs. Obama has quite the line-up of designer dresses, suits, shoes . .

Bottom line -
BARACK THE VOTE.
LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD.
